KKRLaw got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Book Design Needed for Airport Executives

Attorney & Law
Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell LLP is a national law firm with a practice focused on solving problems that involve environmental, land use, public lands, energy, and transportation law. The main target audience for this book cover is airport executives and airport attorneys who are attending a conference.
What's your vision?
We need a front and back cover designed, along with a spine (attached is an example of what last year’s layout looked like). The front cover must include Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell’s logo, as well as 2 other logos provided. The Kaplan Kirsch logo should be the largest logo of the three. The front also must have the title “Airport Law Desk Reference” on it. Either on the front or back, please add "31st Annual AAAE Basics of Airport Law Workshop and 2015 Legal Update” and the dates “November 1-3, 2015.” The back cover should have the following websites listed: http://www.aaae.org http://www.kaplankirsch.com http://www.airportattorneys.com http://www.imla.org We would like the cover to represent aviation, NOT a specific emphasis on only airports or airplanes; please avoid images that only feature an airplane. We've seen several photos of overhead shots of airport runways. These would be good images to experiment with as cover photos, too. If doing so, please use a photo that is generic enough that airport executives wouldn't be able to identify which airport the runway belongs to. The cover image does not have to be a photograph; we are open to the idea of graphics. Please remove any airline brands in photos, as we cannot have "advertise" brands. It is important to include that the conference is located in Washington, DC this year. Please be creative with incorporating Washington, DC into the aviation design. This isn't required, but we would like to see how the two ideas can be combined into the book cover. The past few years, the covers have been blue. We would like to see designs in other colors, but aren't opposed to a few blue options. The cover from last year is the one that shows both a front and back.
We must have rights to the cover and will need it designed using the Adobe InDesign software so we can edit font for other conference materials. We also need to have clean, high-res copies of all graphics used because. Attached are the logos necessary to incorporate into the cover. There are also a few examples of previous years covers attached. We have also attached a photo that we found (but did not purchase yet) of an airport in Washington, DC. Also, we have recently developed a new tagline for our website that we are renovating. The tag line is attached and says "projects that keep life moving". We would like to see a few options that incorporate the tagline into the design. Our Firm's colors are gray (pantone 431), red (pantone 1797), and black. We prefer sans-serif fonts.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Book cover starts at $429.
