GaryGary got their new book cover by running a design contest:
book or magazine cover for Commercial Music Theory Book
Check out GaryGary's Book cover contest…
We have authored a music theory book and need to have it stylized. The book is designed for online visibility which means that we need to employ css3 for cross browser / cross platform consistency.
What's your vision?
We would like the book cover and a style guide for the elements of the book such as - chapter header graphic, h1, h2, h3, h4, link, bold, list elements, and style for inserted graphic illustrations, including captions. The contest would be judged by the best cover design and the most elegantly organized visual presentation of a small excerpt from a section of the book containing the elements needing stylization. Latin Text can be inserted into the excerpt by the design to imply or to demonstrate extended elements not covered in this description. A small version of the book has been uploaded via DOCX.
There is no need to stylize the whole excerpt that has been provided, but there is the need to identify the various styled elements and to create a style guide for them. It is conceivable then that the winner could win by creating The Cover, The Index, and a few pages demonstrating the colors, fonts, weights, margins, etc.. of their submission.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Book cover starts at $429.
Full copyright with production-ready files for digital and/or print.
It all began with a design brief.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
GaryGary collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
