johnthib got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Create a compelling book cover for How to Change a Law.

My name is John Thibault. I am the Founder and CEO of iLobby and the author of How to Change a Law. iLobby is a crowd funded lobbying platform and this book is a manual to educate users and frustrated US voters about how to become politically engaged.
What's your vision?
I would like a 6 x 9 front and back cover design that meets Amazon's CreateSpace spec. for this paperback. Other Notes. Book cover design – notes Non-fiction paperback Author – John Thibault Title: How to Change a Law Subtitle: The Intelligent Consumer’s 7-Step Guide • Improve your community, • Influence your country, • And impact the world. Bold simple design BIG title on keywords - How to Change a Law Dominant colors • red white and black • or yellow and black Need Amazon paperback 6x9 book cover, front and back. I do not need spine art – book is 103 pages long. I have quotes for the back and author B&W photo. Amazon has ISBN barcode. Need design in PDF print quality per Amazon specification for Create Space. Interior: B&W Trim Size 6"x9" Pages: 103 Paper color: white Cover: glossy https://www.createspace.com/Help/Book/Artwork.do Current e-book cover, video and website available at: http://www.changealaw.com/ebook https://www.facebook.com/ChangeALaw/ https://vimeo.com/158783894 https://www.ilobby.co
I am not necessarily trying to match the yellow and black cover of the current e-book. I think I prefer a bold red, white and black look. I would rather this look like a consumer mass market book than he political, patriotic book. If there is an appropriate icon/photo that works, great. But it is not required. I don't want this to look the same as other flag bearing red, white and blue political books. I am including a screen capture of a handful of books that have strong simple design.

When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Dreamz 14 not only produced a great design, they were an absolute pleasure to work with and helped to make multiple edits and entertain concept ideas I had. I'd highly recommend them. I will be using them again in the future.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
