Truce? Hating Elijah Monroe
Amelia Kingston is a writer, traveler, animal lover, and hopeless romantic. She survives on chocolate, coffee, wine, and sarcasm, not necessarily in that order. Born and raised in California, Amelia has spent most of her days on the beach, soaking up the sun with a book in her hands. Her favorite stories are the ones that remind us all that love is rarely perfect, but it’s always worth chasing. She writes about strong, stubborn, flawed women and the men who can't help but love them. Her irreverent books aim to be silly and fun with the occasional storm cloud to remind us to appreciate the sunny days. She dreams of one day finding her book lying in the sun, pages smudged with sunscreen and sand in its binding.
Truce? is a small town enemies-to-lovers rom-com novella (~39k words). When I was sixteen, I gave my heart to Elijah Monroe the first second I saw him. Too bad the jerk didn't want it. Probably for the best, since he's my step-brother. Despite the few moments of truce we have playing baseball, I’ll never be more than an annoyance to him. I couldn't get out Nowhere-ville, California—and away from Elijah—fast enough. When I left for college I vowed never to come back. Six years later, I have my teaching credential and a mountain of student loan debt. A summer back at home is about as tempting as slitting my wrist and jumping into a shark tank. But, free rent and a guaranteed summer teaching job are the smart move. Elijah may have grown into a scorchingly hot fireman and he’s still my nemesis. It's three months. I can survive anything for three months. Can't say the same for Elijah. I may murder him. I daydream about wrapping my bare hands around that muscular neck. That'd wipe the smug smirk of his gorgeous face.
Target audience is your average romance reader: women, age 30-54, college-educated, in a relationship
