Our company designs mobile applications for missionaries around the world.
What's your vision?
We are getting ready to launch a new iPad application. The purpose of the application is to provide users with the ability to interact with the content of a book as if it were the real book. The book is a religious text called the The Book of Mormon. People nwho have read and studied the book are used to the layout of the content and the location of verses as they are uniquely laid out in the actual book. Although the content is available on many mobile platforms, the experience isn't quite the same because you are just scrolling through text. Our app uses the iPad's UIPageViewController to allow users to flip through pages just like they would with the hard copy. The text and content is laid out the exact same as the real thing. We are looking for a vector based design that will stick out, and set our app apart in the world of scripture based apps. We want it to reflect the fact that our app is designed to be very similar to the real, authentic experience of using the real book. The app icon may include the picture of a high resolution book, leather, wood, or something else that would communicate the feeling of using a quality book. The title of the app is: Authentic LDS Scriptures - The Book of Mormon Thanks!
I welcome anything you can come up with. The main thing I am looking for is a creative icon idea that explains what our app is about. Thank you! Also, I have decided that I would probably prefer to not have any text on the icon. I figure it will be small anyway, so I would want to have the icon convey the idea without text.
