Bill Branson needed a new wordpress theme design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 23 designs submitted by 7 freelance designers.
Bill Branson describes himself as a “recovering IT Executive turned business consultant and coach.”
He has over 30 years experience working with systems including automotive, computer, network, and business processes, and for the last 10 years in particular, the most complex system of all: the systems of people we call teams.
Bill is a popular industry speaker and former instructor at the UW extension program teaching computer and networking technology.
As founder of Strategic Business Architects in 2006, Bill helps business owners, executives, and the teams they manage, make the most of themselves, their organizations, and their relationships.
I target several audiences that all have things in common:
- The need to build and maintain cohesive teams - business owners, collaborative divorce lawyers, chamber of commerce boards, project management teams, etc
- The need to have a strategic plan for moving forward

I am looking a Wordpress theme that will be installed on my web presense with a new Wordpress site. The winning design will be coded and installed by a 99designs coding partner.
I'll be using Wordpress as a website that will have general information up front, then navigation for specific verticals. I'll also be using the blogging features as well as an aMember add in for membership managerment.
I use two metaphors pretty heavily: architecture for those trying to create a new business or breath new life into an an existing one - just like you hire an architect to help you take your concept and turn it into reality through design, planning, and oversight I do the same thing with companies and teams.
For existing businesses that may not be running on all cylinders I use an auto metaphor - just like you take your car in if it is not running like you would like the technician uses tools and knowledge to isolate the problem and resolve it. You go from dysfunction to functional. If you'd still like better performance you take it to a performance engineer who can then design and add the things that take it from functional to a high-performance vehicle. I do the same with existing businesses.
Therefore I would like to see things like teams of business people interacting, artifacts of architecture and also of high-performance vehicles if at all possible.
