You can read about 4meglam here: https://4meglam.com/pages/about-us To reshape mass market beauty with disruptive innovation, benefiting you, our furry animal friends and the planet. The next beauty holy grail is inspired by you, and curated and crowdsourced for you. The target audience is GenZ and Millennials living in Southeast Asia. We will initially sell brands not available in Southeast Asia, before collaborating to develop private labels with selected influencers/bloggers.
What's your vision?
Illustrations for our 1st ever 4meglam Holiday 2018 Collection We are looking for illustrations for our Holiday Collection boxes. The target group is young women (and men who buy for them as gifts) ages from 18-35, who enjoy playful brands such as Tarte, ColourPop. Tarte is a great example to refer to. This is a limited edition holiday gift set of makeup or skin care, co-created with famous influencers from Thailand, with high quality ingredients from Korea. The creative vision is: Luxury (beauty is always aspirational, even if at mass market prices) Playful and whimsical Slightly retro (detailed little stories like Where is Waldo, but not as chaotic) Feminine Joyful Contest This contest is specifically for illustrations on 1 box, designed as part of a series. Box dimensions: The box dimension: 17cm length x 8cm width x 2cm height - this is good enough for a set of 4 products Each product is 16cm length x 1cm diameter (like a pencil)
--- Post-contest: After this content, we will reach out to the winner through a "1-to-1 project" after this contest to design the remaining boxes as well as the product on-pack designs. Please refer to the brief with examples attached. Consumers have the opportunity to buy the entire series, and when the packaging set is placed side-by-side (so make you you plan ahead and keep them all as landscape or all as portrait) for the series, you can connect the story/ visual from one box to another box, in a seamless manner. The box looks beautiful on its own, but even more interesting as a series placed side by side. It is a journey of discovery that is fun. --- Illustration tips: Each box should allow the consumer to discover something interesting about the holiday season. Pick any location for this 1st design for the contest: New York (Macy's, Thanksgiving Parade)/ London (Harrods) / Finland (Reindeers, Christmas market) / Singapore (given the hype with Crazy Rich Asians) But be creative, don't limit yourself to the city icons provided, there are more icons for each city! --- Design tone tips: The design or illustration should be "inclusive". If you choose to showcase New York, highlight a diversity of people - Hanukka, Christmas, folks of different income levels and of different races, including folks that are able-bodied and disabled. Your box design should serve to inform those living in Southeast Asia, who may not be as informed about the holiday traditions in the country you picked. It should also convey kindness, optimism, inclusiveness and joy to the gift recipient.

This is my second time working with Katrin. Both time I was very pleased with all the designs. She sketches out the designs first, which I really like. I will diffidently work with her again in the near future. I highly recommend her.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
