Pencil is a creative AI that enables brands, agencies and creatives to craft massive personalised ad campaigns that originate in culture, multiplying the art and effectiveness of online advertising. You can read more here http://www.trypencil.com We believe that AI will be as fundamental to creativity in the next 100 years as the pencil was in the last 100. Pencil generates compelling original copy, visuals or layouts for any message and audience, pre-optimising for business metrics like recall, engagement and conversion. This can be game-changing for brands and agencies struggling to maintain creative quality at the scale of dozens or hundreds of asset variations required for modern digital marketing. AI content generation can be fully automated, using a brand’s history and public data from news or social media to pitch products into any cultural context. Generation can also take its cues from human creatives, scaling concepts into whole new classes of personalised, real-time content. We’re an early stage startup team from Google and award-winning creative shop Iris Worldwide, with backing from Entrepreneur First. We move fast and make things.
What's your vision?
This brief: 1. A key visual that captures the concept of collaborative human-machine creativity in a visually arresting way. This could be photographic or illustrated. We'll use this as the first above-fold panel on our website and inherit colours and theme from it. 2. Once the key visual is complete, we'd like to extend it to icons and other graphics we can use to describe and accentuate our product and features on our website. We can provide guidance on what these features are. === Future briefs: 3. We also want some help with a one-page website design. We'll provide the information and copy platform. 4. If necessary, we're open to reconsidering our logo - but we like the core concepts that the base unit of digital creativity is the square pixel, and that as a company we're trying to use AI to generate ideas that are bigger and more exciting than typical online ads (hence the word wrap). 5. We may also need to extend aspects of the key visual and brand design to the UX of our mobile and SaaS platforms.
1. We're looking for a design that looks deeply human - quirky, surprising, eye-popping - but also vaguely machine - awe inspiring, computational, glitchy, complex, infinite. 2. We're looking for a brand feel that is bold and distinctive but also stands back and allows the creative the AI generates to take centre stage (once we have samples of this!) 3. The concept of AI creativity should feel powerful and a little intimidating but also hugely positive and exciting for creatives. Ultimately this technology should make creatives superhuman in terms of the scale of their creativity. 4. No actual pencils in the designs please! Too obvious... 5. We realise the irony of needing design help as a creative AI company. Some things will always need the human touch...! 6.
