Global choices is a not for profit organization wanting to engage people in a contemporary way with the big choices of our time: environmental, social, Financial and spiritual and building peace and stability. We follow loosely the framework of the 17 Sustainable development goals and we encourage designers to take a look at these:
The intention is to engage large numbers of ordinary people to think about our footprint in the world and in stimulating and informed ways, VR, gamification etc, encourage people to take responsibility for change and to make better choices. There is a rising tide of consciousness and We want to channel these mobilized voices to put pressure on policy makers to move faster and make better choices to avert some of the major crises of our time.
We have a strong environmental bias but know everything is interconnected.
There are serious threats to our global wellbeing and we are running out of time to address some of them.
While we want people to feel a sense of urgency we also want them to be hopeful and realize that there are solutions, our choices matter and we hold our future in our hands ( no hands in the logo please!)
The target audience is those who care about the globe, strongly millennial and Below but really of any age. Many of the older generation feel a sense of inter generational responsibility. We have a strong feminine bias and will be targeting women.
What is a requirement is that the feel is fresh, contemporary and also sophisticated, not too business or in your face pop or modern. We have high level meetings so prefer the design to be both subtle and bold, perhaps the colors of the SDG's can be incorporated in a border but this is not a requirement.
The card is to be landscape not vertical.
We want it to make people curious and thoughtful and possibly trigger memories of decision making we have had eg fork in the road, hidden balls under cups etc a decision tree perhaps - you are the designers!
We like white on a solid background. We like chalk drawing, we are open and excited to see what comes. Think ... A sense of Urgency, responsibility and optimism and belief that we can change things if we act now.
While it's currently a small commission - more follows for the winner, website, brochures etc so we encourage you all to put up some ideas. We will acknowledge the winner and our material goes to some cool places. Look forward to it and please do ask questions.
