- About the company - We are a small team of 2 (husband + wife) who provide a software service to small, independently owned auto-repair shops that helps them keep track of their customers and get in touch when it's time to bring their cars back into the shop for maintenance. At certain mileage points, a car's tires need to be rotated, brake pads need to be checked, the air conditioning flushed, etc. While most car owners have good intentions of keeping their car well maintained, it's usual for regular maintenance to be forgotten (and can prove to be a missed opportunity for auto repair shops who are losing forgetful customers' business). CoupeSuite makes it easy for auto repair shops to enter car owner/visitor information to create detailed car maintenance schedules so they know exactly what maintenance each car needs and when. We use algorithms to estimate each customer's mileage and contact him when and how he prefers (by text message, email, or phone) when it's time for him to bring his car back into the shop for maintenance. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - Target Audience - Small, independently owned auto-repair shops. This software is designed specifically to help auto-shops get more business from previous customers. These customers attempt to get in touch with previous customers manually, by phone or by email, but since this is so labor intensive they usually don't end up doing anything at all, missing all of the potential repeat business and the opportunity to strengthen trusted relationships with their customers. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - Competitors & how we differ - The majority of our competitors have high costs ($500-$2,000 per month) and require a multi-year commitment. Our major competitors are used primarily by larger auto-shops, often owned by large corporations or even dealerships. We aim to be different in a few key ways: * We are targeting smaller, independently owned shops as our first customers. These guys put a ton of effort into their business and customers, and care about every dollar spent, but understand the concept of a return on their investment. * Our product does not require any up-front, long term commitment. You can cancel or suspend your service at any time and there is a free, 30-day trial period. * Our product is much more affordable than our competition, and is easy to change and cancel. * Our product is simpler than the competition, with fewer features. * We are a small business ourselves, so we understand the unique challenges faced by mom & pop shops. We have a personal touch that is not available from our competitors. Our biggest competitors - we want to be different from these guys: - Demandforce: http://www.demandforce.com/industries/automotive/ - R.O.Writer: http://www.rowriter.com/ - Mitchell 1: http://mitchell1.com/main/
Other color requirements
Blue, Gray, maybe green or white... not totally sure
- Design - We are looking for help coming up with a brand identity and are hoping that this logo exercise can help to provide that. I chose the 'word mark', 'pictorial mark', and 'emblem' logo types as the ones we're interested in, but we are open to exploring our options. We don't have a solid brand yet, so I don't think a letter mark or character would work. We have experimented with including shop tools or something related to the automotive industry in our logo, but- again- we're very open to your suggestions. However, we do not like "swoops" over top of the logo in the shape of a car. We've seen a couple of these ideas already and don't care for them. If there is an icon incorporated into the logo, it must not be required to be on top of the text. It must work alongside the text as well. When the logo requires the icon to be on top of the text, then the vertical space required makes it difficult for us to position in many areas on the web. I've collected a few logos that I like on this pinterest board: http://www.pinterest.com/campanilla333/logos-i-like/ We would like a sans serif font that is very clear to read. The words "Coupe" and "Suite" must be given equal prominence and should use the same font weight. Only the letters "C" and "S" should be capitalized. We do not want a logo with all of the text in CAPS. On color preferences - they're colors that we've thought about, but we aren't tied to anything specific. Please do make sure, however, that the colors are web-friendly since we are an online software business. I think that's it! Please feel free to ask more questions or for clarification on anything.
