Information Design Lab
We are a newly established University research lab called the “Information Design Lab” or ‘id lab’. We are part of the Enterprise Information Management Research Group.
We are looking for a logo to represent us on websites, stationery, signage etc. The logo should look good in small and large sizes, in print and on screen.
What is the Information Design Lab?
To us information design is about the design of information products and services so they are both useful and useable. We use human-centred technology design methods to improve the design and usability of information products such as websites, electronic documents, software applications and interfaces etc.
The research lab is part of a larger research group on the topic of Enterprise Information Management that covers topics such as information needs analysis, enterprise content management systems and information asset management.
Target audience
Our target audiences are:
1. Other universities and researchers who are interested in our research or in collaborating with us
2. Industry/ business partners who wish to partner with use or for whom we conduct business research run workshops etc
We are open to both single colour and multi-colour designs. The logo should also work well in black and white if photocopied for example. In terms of colours as we are building our new identity we are completely open to your suggestions: “red, grey, black and white” are popular with us as is a blue (e.g. Pantone 278) black and white, orange, green. Something clean and fresh is good.
The logo can be a symbol and should include the initials IDL /idLab in combination with the name “Information Design Lab” etc.
We would like a fresh, clean, bold logo design for our design lab. We are big fans of modern/contemporary designs, sans serif fonts, strong images and minimal ornamentation. Something that is clean, fresh and clearly shows the initials ID or IDL and the words "Information Design Lab".
We are serious scholarly researchers but we are also playful and creative (-:
