Ben (adography.com) needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 228 designs submitted by 73 freelance designers.
Our logo is old, outdated, plain and very web 1.0, we know that. We are about to revamp the entire site and are looking for a fresh new design, starting with the logo. You have free reign to take bold chances with colors, use our existing colors, whatever you think looks best.
Adography.com is the currently marketed as "where photos become advertisements", but need a new tagline to promote that we target and cater to on-demand photography for high profile clientele. We are a service that allows advertisers/graphic designers/anyone to request specific photos be taken by photographers. This will allow for big companies to request a specific photo, that showcases their brand (i.e. a kid drinking a coca-cola) or just can't be found in stock photography. Why spend hours digging through stock, when you could just request the photo you want be taken by amateurs and professional photographers alike. Here's more on how it works:

What we need is a new logo. Ours is plain, old and outdated. We want something fresh, new, current but ahead of the web trends.
You can see the colors on our current site, but we would love a change. Feel free to choose new colors.
We are going for professional, simple, elegant, neat, clean, and attractive that is recognizable and represents what we are about, that we go "beyond stock photography".
We also need a tagline. We currently like "Beyond stock photography", "When stock photography just doesn't cut it", "Don't stick to stock", or similar. We'll let you be the judge, although the creativity as a whole is what will win the prize money.
- Tagline - of your choosing
- Colors - of your choice, may use our current ones
- Keywords- professional
- simple
- elegant
- neat/clean
- attractive
- recognizable
- representative of our service
- The ideal design would combine the elements of advertising and photography using icons, font, graphics, etc.
- Web 2.0 like every other logo
- Plain
- Bubbly
- Hard to read
- Extravagant (i.e. too many colors and graphics)
- The logo should not rely on the tagline, it should look good with or without the tagline.
