After many years in Corporate sales and marketing roles, I am starting my own consulting business. I want to be different from the rest - I want to prove new business models and provide new ways of thinking for my clients. Scarily, I actually want to state opinions to my clients!
I have mostly worked in the IT industry, and understand how to construct and take-to-market new software, hardware or IT services solutions. I want to share new ideas with my clients on how to differentiate their solutions for the customers, and utilize effective client acquisition and retention practices.
I have worked with most types of IT delivery organizations as channel or referral partners - I want to excite my clients with a new approach to working with the people and organzations who can help them sell and service their products.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The target audience for this is primarily IT software, hardware and services organizations. They will likely be small to medium sized organizations looking to grow their business - either by building new products, new markets or new channels of distribution. They will be US-based companies, or International companies looking to get into the US market.
The likely contact is the CEO, the Head of Sales, the Head of Channels / Alliances, or the Chief Markting Officer (or all of this list).
They will be looking for someone who can help them devise new strategies for addressing the growth opportunity facing them. I want them to believe that I can provide great, innovative thinking, that is grounded in many years practical experience working with similar organizations to theirs. I want them to believe that I will not provide cookie cutter approaches to their situation, and that we will together come up with solutions which are right for them specifically.
Although my company name is derived from the "Thinking outside the box" concept of the Nine Dot puzzle, I do not want the design to be too literal.
The main theme is about new ways of working, getting the best out of the people and organzations who can help my clients to be successful, in a win-win context.
Consulting companies, particularly small sales and marketing focused ones, can be perceived to be reactive and dull. I want the design to cut across this, and demonstrate a desire for new thinking but based in the pragmatic world of increased competitiveness, focus on revenue and stakeholder success, and a need for Return on Investments (ROI).
Feel free to be bold in the use of concepts and colors - whilst avoiding triviality and flippancy. The target audience is business people looking for new, fresh ideas.
I look forward to receiving some great ideas and designs - thanks in advance
