Marmalade
We are a trendy, upscale women's boutique located on San Francisco's fashionable Union Street. We are often compared to Anthropologie so if you need some visuals on the aesthetic we strive to achieve (but not copy), check out their logo and website. Here is our bio:
Vintage. Modern. Romantic. Edgy. Bohemian. Classic. Charming. Chic...blend these elements together and you get Marmalade’s recipe for great style. This darling boutique, located on San Francisco’s famed Union Street boasts a sumptuous array of trendy tops, darling dresses, skirts, slacks, baubles, bubbles, treasures and trinkets and flea market finds that are sure to satisfy even the most finicky fashionistas.
Owner and former New York City style maven Hope Schaffer-Colling does a fabulous job of combining the cutting edge chicness of downtown New York with a casual, California surfer girl vibe for a fashion forward, laid back look that resonates in every detail of the hand picked pieces Colling hangs on the racks.“I do really small orders so everyone’s not walking around wearing the same thing. It keeps the store fresh because we get new merchandise in every few days.”
The bewitching collections are something to be seen, but perhaps the most impressive aspect of all is Colling’s commitment to finding versatile, wearable fashions for an affordable price- nothing in the store is over $100.
Women aged 16-60 who shop at stores like J Crew, Anthropologie, and Banana Republic. Classic, slightly preppy- think celebrities with style like Rachel Bilson, Kate Moss, the girls from The Hills.
The logo that we have now doesn't really match the vibe of the store, so I am looking for something that people will see- say on a shopping bag that a passer by is carrying- and know just by looking at it that it's a place they want to check out.
Elements I might like to incorporate, but am not married to any of these:
- whimsical swirls or borders
- the color orange (marmalade)
- the color grey (maybe with some orange or a cherry-red)
I have attached a photo of our current logo and one of the store...please check out our facebook page, there are TONS of photos of merchandise, the store interior, etc.- http://www.facebook.com/marmaladesf and also ANTHROPOLOGIE- really love the simplicity and elegance of their logo.
