I am an expert consultant and master trainer for ArchiCAD, a high-end 3D software tool for architects. Three years ago I created an add-on for ArchiCAD called MasterTemplate that is sold world-wide (400+ users in over 20 countries).
I am launching a new Best Practices online training program this coming Thursday November 18 - hence the fast-track contest - I put this off, and now need this right away!
I am well-respected personally as a technology expert by those who have seen my ArchiCAD Tips and Tricks articles or videos. I care passionately about my clients, and work very long hours to deliver the highest quality support I can.
The recession has hit architects very hard, and my business has suffered greatly. I now work alone (the "company" is me) and am "reinventing" my business.
I will be offering online software training for ArchiCAD (The Best Practices Course) through a membership site, and working to expand my own branded add-on for ArchiCAD (MasterTemplate).
Our market is the world of ArchiCAD users. These are the architects and related building designers who use this advanced 3D architectural design software solution.
They have a strong "design sense" and are somewhat independent - ArchiCAD is highly-respected, but NOT the mass-market leader for architectural software. They are sort of like Apple users - these are people who wouldn't give up their software if you paid them.
Our market for the new Best Practices online course is a combination of our existing clients (those who have bought MasterTemplate or ArchiCAD itself from us) as well as other ArchiCAD users who are looking to improve their skills to take better advantage of the technology. Some know me and my company, others will not.
I want to closely coordinate the marketing for the two products, with a similar look, so this is a contest for two related logos that will share graphic elements and style.
The winning designer may get a follow-on contract for redesign of our main company website logo at:
The name of each product (e.g. "MasterTemplate" and "Best Practices" aka "The Best Practices Course") should be very prominent.
These tag lines need to be incorporated in the website header versions of the logos:
MasterTemplate - The Office Standard for ArchiCAD
The BEST PRACTICES Course - Helping ArchiCAD users get the most out of their software
On the current Best Practices site, there is a graphic element that I used to use for MasterTemplate - a Leonardo da Vinci woodcut illustration that shows an intricate geometric form. This form (I can't remember it's name, but it's like interlinked dodecahedrons) is meant to suggest the following attributes:
- Beautiful 3D geometry
- Interlinked forms where everything "fits together"
- Classic design
Unfortunately, this image is "old fashioned" and somewhat hard to "read". I'd love to get a strong "3D" graphic element that looks modern and is very legible yet carries the attributes mentioned above.
You may use the colors on the existing websites as a starting point, but I am open to new color schemes.
Do not use stock images or clip art.
Supply JPG, layered PSD as well as other "native" digital files.
