First United Methodist Church
We are a welcoming family of faith serving Jesus Christ and our community. We are also the oldest congregation in Corpus Christi, Texas. We are a large urban church, which sits on the Corpus Christi bay front and attracts worshipers from all over the city and surrounding area. We offer contemporary & traditional worship services, lots of study opportunities, and we feel that few people realize all the community services we offer. Our newly adopted motto is "Learning, Loving, Living Christ." We are looking to rebrand ourselves to reflect our core values of Faith, Love, Worship, Family, and Service.
We want to attract multi-cultural families with children and/or teenagers. These persons would primarily be professional persons who are seeking to raise their children in our loving and caring congregation with a family atmosphere. These young adults might also be persons looking for ways to plug into the community through service and therefore attracted to our multitude of ongoing mission projects.
Our audience is Gen Xers and Yers. The logo needs to be bold, cutting edge, and upmarket, but personable. It needs to say “this is where you belong.”
PLEASE, NO NEW ENTRIES UNLESS THEY CONTAIN ORIGINAL LINE DRAWINGS OF THE STATUE.
We are well known in the community for our statue of Christ sitting out front overlooking the bay. The logo design will have to include an image of the statue. I have uploaded a photograph and an artistic rendering of the statue. We would like to see a simplified drawing used in the design, although not necessarily the one provided here. Please avoid cartoonish designs. We prefer a pictorial design with text.
Another idea which might be included is the United Methodist Cross and Flame. This is a copyrighted image for use by United Methodist churches and available at umcom.org.
Our name is quite long. You are invited to experiment with shorter versions. We are open to your creative suggestions here. You may or may not want to include the motto. We welcome your ideas!
The design should render well in a monotone and full color. The finished design needs to be a vector graphic. It will be used on business cards, letterhead, web pages, church publications, and advertising, so it needs to be versatile.
We would want the font used to be available to use for future design work. Any fonts used must be available in TrueType and/or OpenType for use on either a Mac or PC. We would expect to acquire the font from a third party vender and would appreciate knowing your source.
