Jhahn got their new logo design by running a design contest:
The Center for Austin's Future

About Us The Center for Austin's Future is a political organization established to train prospective candidates for office and support/fund candidates as they run for political office. We are not Republicans. We are not Democrats. We are a group of citizens attempting to get non-partisan civic leaders prepared to run for local political offices. Our Purpose Statement The purpose of the Center for Austin’s Future is to identify, train and support future-minded candidates for local public office –– from school board to the state house. Future-minded candidates have the vision and integrity to advocate for long-range, long-lasting, difference-making policies capable of balancing our community’s needs. Our Mission The middle is missing in Austin politics. Extreme viewpoints, from the very liberal to the very conservative, have overtaken our local governing institutions – from the school board to the state house. The Center for Austin’s Future aims to fill the missing middle by cultivating candidates, supporting elections and inspiring voters to choose leaders capable of seeing, and managing our region toward a smarter future.
The idea of The Center for Austin politics is that it is not right (conservative) or left (liberal) but centrist (the middle) where rational, reasonable people exist. Purple is the right palette because it isn't red (conservative) or blue (liberal). It's a mix of both, so it's the combination of the colors. Think about ideas and images related to "staying on center..." --- A plumb bob --- A carpenter's level (the bubble inside) Think about ideas associated with a future focus... --- A compass --- A telescope Avoid complicated designs with multiple pieces are parts. Simple and striking is the key.
