Fortuna got the brief after I rewrote it the second time. Almost nailed it from the start. Just needed a couple tweeks and it was spot on.
Fortuna was very polite and even though my requests were only minor, it was no problem. Can't thank him enough.
It was frustrating to watch other designers copy what he was doing and present them as their ideas, that's not designing.
Thanks again to Fortuna and to 99 designs for making this possible 😃

We want this logo for "China Forum", a conference to be hosted by UCSD and UCSD's School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS). The forum will be attended by graduate students and young professionals interested in China and US-Asia affairs. We want to logo to illustrate a connection between the U.S. (blue) and China (red).
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?

We're open to other ideas, but are interested in having logo that has blue waves going left to right, that look like they're going farther away from the viewer. At the end of the wave is something red (representing China). We want to logo to show a connection between the U.S. and China. For colors, we definitely want to incorporate blue and red to represent the two countries, and also the two sponsors of the forum (UCSD, UCSD's GPS). Please view UCSD and UCSD's GPS for additional color ideas. Thank you!
