Markwin was great to work with, responded in a timely manner and when the designer couldn't, they informed me. Post winning they went out of their way to amend minor adjustments till i was happy with the design. Great to work with and responsive.

How andrewkB started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
What’s your company slogan?
merchant & maker, Suffolk, since 2012
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We’re a small, independent company manufacturing furniture by hand – all the furniture we make is bespoke and unique. Much of our furniture incorporates reclaimed materials.
We also sell products for the home by similar makers – small manufacturers/artisans producing lighting, homewares, furniture etc.
Location is important to us – we’re based in Suffolk, UK, 90 minutes from London. Rural, by the coast, but in touch with our urban audience (90% of our customers are London based). We’re selling our predominantly urban audience a slice of that rural, Suffolk vibe, a sense of escape. Our clients tend to be moneyed, aged 30-50.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
We would like a logo that speaks of our non-corporate approach and ethos. The following sums up our approach (these are just for guidance, not for inclusion in the logo):
• Warm and Rustic
• Design conscious
• Slow movement
• Carefully curated products
We would like the tagline 'merchant & maker' but would also like to get our location - 'Suffolk' and date 'Since 2012' - in there somewhere too.
In terms of fonts, we're open to ideas - serif and sans serif - but we want something that looks clean, simple and modern. Nothing swirly or fussy. Please do look at the attached designs that we like from other companies.
Finally, whilst we're a small, rurally based maker, we're keen to avoid anything too folksy. We need to convey the sense of escape - of goods made by hand in the wilds of Suffolk - but also retain the edge of 'sophistication' and savvy that our audience expects. i.e. wild but in touch with urban cool.
We have attached png files of logos we like: George and Willy, Hole and Corner and Caravan Coffee Roasters.
