Community & Non-Profit
A charity created to provide basic necessities for families in need. Debbie's Closet gets its name from my mother, who is one of the most generous people I know. Her generosity is rooted in the tragic burning of our own home when me and my sisters were young children. She and my dad lost everything and they experienced the generosity of other people. Once they were back on their feet, my mom took over a closet in the back corner of our small church. She stocked it with anything that she could afford to buy so that when people came to church and had needs, she could supply for them. She has now been providing basic needs for needy families for nearly thirty years. Her work has grown to now include an annual Christmas party where she leads volunteers and donators to provide Christmas Dinner and gifts for over 200 families each year. Additionally, her and my father "sponsor" one needy family per year by providing their housing and food while they get back on their feet. I just founded the charity this week and my mom does not yet know about it. I want the logo to capture the essence of her generosity, but not focus on her. She is modest and wouldn't want that. I keep thinking of a picture of a closet or a feed bag, but I'm not sure. maybe, it would be better to focus on the young children she feeds and the mothers she provides for. Not sure.
Logo types to explore
I want this to logo to capture the essence of the charity. It's important to think of inner-city and suburban families that are really in need. Then, think of a plain person working hard to provide for those needs and doing it without ever wanting to draw attention to herself or what she's doing. Please also keep in mind that this charity is being funded by a home building company. I don't think it's relevant, but maybe it somehow helps.
