Power through collaboration
Resource limitations and lack of expertise are two significant barriers to renewable energy adoption by local governments. The Regional Renewable Energy Procurement Project (R-REP) will help public agencies overcome these barriers. Under the direction of Alameda County, Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network and the Contra Costa Economic Partnership, this initiative will utilize collaborative procurement to purchase renewable energy systems for public agencies throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. The R-REP is an expansion of the Silicon Valley Collaborative Renewable Energy Procurement Project, (SV-REP) under which nine Silicon Valley public agencies came together using a collaborative procurement model to drive down the costs of solar power for public agencies at 70 sites. Utilizing this successful model, regional collaboration will provide public agencies the following benefits: - Reduced transaction costs & administrative time; - Competitive contract terms (buyout options, performance guarantees, termination options, etc.) compared to similar projects; - Standardized procurement documents, financing, and process; - Accelerated financing and deployment; - Reduction in greenhouse gas emissions; and - Local economic activity and job growth. The R-REP is projected to include 18 public agencies for a total of approximately 120 sites developed with renewable energy systems totaling 15 – 20 megawatts throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Solar photovoltaic is the most representative technology for R-REP. The target audience includes vendors from the renewable energy industry, City Councils and Boards of Directors as well the general public.

We would like a design appropriate for letter head with the emblem design (i.e., R-REP) followed by the word mark design (i.e., Regional Renewable Energy Procurement Project). The emblem design will also be used, without the accompanying word mark design, in PowerPoint presentations and webpages.
