zenweddingsla got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create a Simple and Elegant Logo for Zen Weddings
Check out zenweddingsla's Logo design contest…
We create custom, non-traditional full service weddings aligned with universal spiritual themes for socially conscious couples getting married. Our team of wedding professionals includes the officiant, musical entertainment, caterer, florist, and event planner; and will provide everything the client needs to have a beautiful, expertly run and spiritually enriched day. Clients will be able to incorporate some or all of our services for their event. We are anticipating a socially and spiritually conscious audience. Most of our clients will be upscale. But we will work on a sliding scale for those couples who are aligned with our core values, but do not have the budget for an all-out Zen wedding.
Logo types to explore
Here are the 7 principles of our company that permeate everything we do. These concepts should be reflected in the logo. Of particular interest, may be the last principle, Enso, the Japanese word for "circle." The logo does not have to be or even have a circle in the design, but should reflect the concept of circular paradox and endless beginnings. Seven Principles of Zen Weddings Inc. There are seven principles that distinguish Zen Weddings Inc. from most wedding planners. These principles have earned us the reputation of being mavericks in this industry, taking nonconformist and bohemian approaches while staying true to the principles of Zen philosophy and universal spiritual themes of love, oneness, and compassion. 1. Simplicity (Kanso) - We refrain from adding anything that is not absolutely necessary. Clarity, not decoration, is essential. Beauty does not need to be overstated. What does not matter is eliminated. What matters shines through without clutter. This is true from every word uttered by the officiant, every note played by the musician, every flower blossom placed, every ingredient of every dish, and every element of the design and look of the ceremony. Elegance is the natural byproduct of this kind of simplicity. 2. Naturalness (Shizen) - native, pure, whole, Shizen is the absence of artificiality and falsehood. Nothing is forced into being something it is not. Used in this way, the true nature of the ceremony and the spirit of the party attending are allowed to simply be. A peace of mind emerges from this tranquility. Ease arises from the serenity of each blossom, from the delicate sounds of nylon strings, from the poetry of vows uttered in grace: Your day is as natural as the wind, stately as the sun, and exquisite as the moon. 3. Artistry (Datsuzoku) - Datsuzoku technically means a break from routine. This is the core of how we approach each wedding, and indeed, our lives. We are not agents of conformity. We are not employees of mega-corporations. We do not follow the conventions of mainstream behaviors. The deepest secret in what we do is that we see design not a process of duplication, but rather a process of creation. We are artists, poets, and musicians in all we do for you, from our first hello to our last goodbye. We design, invent, conceive, and build something unique and wonderful with you to welcome you into your world of marriage. Artistry creates magic. You will co-create this experience for yourselves with us, in a platform designed for open innovation. 4. Transcendence (Yugen) - Yugen translates into subtle profundity. Truth, Love, and Joy are whole, yet shine through in subtlety - that which implies the whole through the symbols of physicality. It is important to limit information just enough to pique curiosity and to open possibility in one's imagination. Nothing we do, is striving for just okay. We aim to touch the realm of the sublime with each detail in subtle, yet profound ways. Transcendence is not about things, but what those things point to. 5. Humor and Fun (Fukinsei) - Fukinsei reveals the natural world through asymmetry and incongruence. Irregularity points to perfection, allowing the viewer to supply the missing symmetry in the imagination of the viewer. This is the exact principle that correlates to humor. We "get" things when they are implied. Our creativity and wit search for meaning. We find it, we laugh. This "getting" gives us enough joy and surprise that we are tickled. One must enjoy the absurdity of life. Looked at this way, all of life is an opportunity to laugh and learn. 6. Tranquility (Seijaku) - In stillness, truth is found. In silence, wisdom is heard. An active calm percolates your ceremony through each hidden blossom of awareness in the garden of your wedding. This is the feeling that one attains when walking through a Japanese garden. It is the essence of creative energy. It is the song of the soul. 7. All Inclusion (Enso) - Enso is the Japanese word for "circle." It symbolizes the sun, the moon, and the universe. It represents the perfection of all dichotomies as endless beginnings, the Absolute in the Relative, and the acceptance of all forms of life, all cultures, all sentient beings as expressions of Divinity. Enso weaves the other six principles into a tapestry of never-ending beauty and infinite love. It is the declaration of eternity in each moment, of boundlessness in each boundary, and of infinity in each finality. Enso, therefore, is a formless form; a circle without a circumference, whose center is everywhere and whose edge is nowhere. It is unconditional in every way.
