Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools (LAB) is a network of open enrollment, college-prep, public charter schools opening its first middle school in downtown Brooklyn in the fall of 2014. LAB’s mission is to prepare students with the academic foundation, digital literacy, and leadership skills necessary to succeed in college and careers while they grow as ethical leaders. LAB couples a No Excuses approach with an innovative, next generation learning model designed to drastically improve the academic success of our scholars. LAB will establish a school culture conducive to intellectual curiosity and competence and facilitates entrepreneurial learning in part through providing opportunities for students to work with educational technology entrepreneurs to re-imagine education and create models and tools that serve and enhance teaching and learning.

We would like the logo to communicate that LAB places great emphasis on entrepreneurial learning, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning, and college-readiness. We would like to avoid a traditional shield logo, and need a logo that can be placed in a horizontal (text to the right of the logo) and vertical (text below the logo) layout.
