Creative Writing Mentor
I am a novelist and writing mentor. I love color and simplicity but my current website is bland, conservative, and busy: http://www.be-a-better-writer.com and it has no real logo. I need to make my brand more memorable.
I'm ready for an eye catching, professional look and am striving for coherence amongst several micro-niche sites, all focused on creative writing.
The demographic I attract is creative, not particularly conservative, with post secondary education and disposable income. They'll appreciate a clean colorful design with simple lines.
I would love to have a logo as simple, playful, colorful, memorable, and easily recognizable as this one: http://www.cottagesincanada.com.
I like how the logo and text are all one element, not separate, and immediately memorable.
I also like the new Google and Wave logos.
I prefer bold line drawings to filled color, and curves to sharp geometric patterns. I don't want anything that looks corporate, or anything too ornate or fussy. The logo should suggest creativity, simplicity, and playfulness. The micro-niche sites are:
The actual Logo is "Creative Writing" only, but designed so that the third word can be inserted as needed. Please show how the third word would be used--the placement and color. I need to see how the "whole" will look.
Also, my site is about WRITING, so it's better not to make CREATIVE the focus.
If it is possible to create a logo that suggests the pen/ink drop and/or alphabet pile I'm currently using at http://www.be-a-better-writer.com, that would be beneficial and would make the change in design less jarring to visitors, but that's secondary to a striking design.
Please, no feathers--I don't like them and they're overused in my field.
I'm noticing that I'm most drawn to logos where "creative writing" is large and very easy to read, just as "cottages" is at http://www.cottagesincanada.com
I would like the winner to provide me with the original Photoshop file.
