Roundeux
Roundeux is a new software startup that provides collaboration software to bloggers and enterprises.
The name "Roundeux" is a play on words, pronounced "Round Two" (Deux is the French word for "two", and is pronounced very similarly to "two"). Roundeux is the second startup for a successful technology entrepreneur, which is where "round two" comes from.
The target audience is business executives looking for collaboration software and aspiring bloggers looking for a platform. Typically these people will be male, aged 25-40, and relatively affluent.
The logo should be distinct and sophisticated, and needs to be able to both stand alone and act as part of a product name and logo (think "Roundeux Collaboration Server" for example). Because of this there can't be so much going on in the logo that a product name couldn't fit below it.
It will be shrunk down in the corner of web sites (in a "Powered by Roundeux" style link), so it needs to be readable when the logo is shrunk to say, 100 pixels wide.
Regarding the "sophisticated" part of the requirement, the logo should not be cartoony or obviously Web 2.0-inspired (doing the Apple reflection-effect on a font, for example, would be a hard sell).
