faredirfare.com
“Faredir fare” is a common phrase used in Turkish language, its direct translation is; “it’s a mouse probably”. Turks generally use this phrase in situations where some kind of rattling or clicking sound is heard from the other room while they are sleeping at night, so when “faredir fare” is said, it carries the underlying meaning “don’t mind the sounds coming from the inside, just let them be”. Thus, the use of “faredir fare” in this project wants to say; “don’t mind the young people, let them play their songs/sounds freely”
Through the “Youth Radio” Project, young volunteer workers living in areas where art, culture and Youth projects create a difference will meet on the web site called http://www.faredirfare.com which will be developed by our study group using new technological methods. The aim of the Project is not only to support e-participation, but also to gather those young volunteers together and encourage them to share information and experience through the programs they will be preparing in the areas of art, culture (especially music) and Youth studies. The Project will be realized through the programs created by the online participants from 81 cities in Turkey. Certain prejudices will be eliminated through an interactive learning environment where young volunteers from different parts of Turkey will come together and share their experiences. Moreover, young volunteers will be encouraged to be supportive, sharing and tolerant. The Project consists of themes such as the e-participation, cultural communions, outcomes of youth studies, youth participation and the importance of entertainment in entrepreneurship. Methods of informal training will be vastly used throughout the Project.
