What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
I need an updated logo. The old logo is too antiquated, hard to manipulate and doesn't really say that we are restaurant. Want something more modern than what we currently have. We are stuck with the copperplate gothic lettering because that is on the side of the building and can not be changed. So let that be your guide. We are adjusting our menu to attract more customers with lower price points while capitialize on our growing bar business. We reach a business lunch crowd, 40 and older bar crowd and Sunday brunch crowd. So the logo can't be campy or too modern. It is Birmingham, Alabama but we are in a very urban location, The new menu will be smaller and more focused. I'd like the logo to be cool and classy. Its a family-owned restaurant. However, it is now being run by me, the eldest daughter. I'm 36 and just moved down here from Manhattan to handle the turnaround. Its a lovely restaurant. We have a great, new young chef. We brought in a new staff to bring in more energy. I have let the bar explode. My father didn't want it to be too much of a bar because we are a restaurant, however, drinks are were the money is in this economy. Since bringing on a new bar manager, we have seen business boom in that arena. Last year, we had some problems in the kitchen and with service that turned people off. I really need a cool, classy logo that brings people back for a second look.
- We are stuck with the copperplate gothic lettering as it is on the side of the building. Must work with this.
- Black and grey and white - though I'm up for invention
- Nothing funky or abstract
- Nothing antique looking
