Do Hard Things University
Change the world. Start with yourself.
Online courses for young people who want to change the world.
UPDATE #2 (01/06/15): I have added a quick comp logo concept to this brief to give you a better idea of what I think of as a "collegiate" building.

UPDATE #1 (01/06/15): I am a bit surprised no one has even attempted to play off the "university" concept in the title. I'm not saying that's the only direction I'm interested in, but it seems an obvious direction to explore.
Also, I would really like to see designs that involve more than just combining fonts. I am more than capable of designing a solely text-based logo. I own the Adobe Suite and I do all the graphic design for my website, so I am looking for something beyond my skill level.
---------------------------------------
I don't want to micro-manage you with too many directions at the start. You are the designers in this business arrangement. I am not.
However, I will try to give prompt and helpful feedback so you aren't wasting time on designs I'm not interested in. This is my primary project right now, so I will be very available to you. Ask any questions.
As background, this product is the out-shoot of an already successful brand and online community, which includes a website and two bestselling books — all targeted at ambitious teenagers and young adults.
I have attached a screenshot of the website (TheRebelution.com) and covers for both books (Do Hard Things and Start Here).
Obviously, I would like Do Hard Things University to somehow tie-in visually with what I already have — but I want you to have creative freedom.
For instance, I am just as open to clean designs as I am to grungy designs, even though my website and books fall on the grungy side of the spectrum.
So don't just try to copy my existing look (though I would consider designs along that line). Be creative. Feel free to surprise me. Have fun with it. I will let you know if I like where you are headed or not.
