Bright Star Schools
We are a network of 7 K-12 charter schools in Los Angeles that serve underserved neighborhoods.
I'd like to explore the following colors:
Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty.
Reds: Energy, action, passion and love.
Yellows: Energy, intellect, fun and youth.
We know the submissions we've liked so far all have a book in common. However, we do not want to limit ourselves to this. We like the educational symbolism and the detailed graphics of these submissions. Other educational symbols that may work are students, graduates (and/or graduation cap), pencils, school building, diploma, etc.
Our name, Bright Star Schools, needs to be included in the logo. We already have company colors. They are:
Blue (hex #00346A; C=100, M=75, Y=8, K=40)
Gold (hex #DEB408; C=0, M=18, Y=100, K=15)
Burgundy (hex #A30234; C=0, M=100, Y=60, K=37)
Other shades of these colors would be acceptable, too. White is totally fine, too. Black (sparingly) is acceptable. Grey (sparingly) is also okay.
We would like to keep this contest very open-minded so that we have the option to go in new directions with our logo. The most important thing you can do is visit our website to see some pictures of our students and read more about us. Link to our website: http://www.brightstarschools.org
What we don't like about our logo now is that perhaps it looks too childish or outdated. Some people think it looks too much like clipart. We would perhaps like to try something more detailed or sophisticated, but we don't want to completely lose sight of the playful element or the fact that we are an organization of K-12 schools. We are very open-minded to any ideas, but incorporating a star and/or a symbol of education (book, etc.) could be nice.
Our current logos and other logos we like are below.
