The logo I submitted is my current logo, which I made myself. I used this logo for many years with my taekwondo club, but I want to change it to say Rising Phoenix Martial Arts, instead of Rising Phoenix Taekwondo Fellowship. (Also, I really like the Madave type font.) Now that I am gearing up to start my professional school, I want an even more professional logo, but I'm hoping it has the same feel as my old logo. I already know pretty much what I want. Imagine the old logo as you see it now, but with a phoenix spreading its wings instead of furling them up. This logo will be placed on the back of the student's uniforms, and I want the wings to stretch from shoulder to shoulder. The phoenix can look quite different than it does now, that's fine, but it should look like a phoenix. The black phoenix symbolizes the spirit of the red practitioner. I'd like to change the technique that the practitioner is doing. Currently, he is doing a high roundhouse kick; however, I would like to see him doing a jump front kick (see attached image. Please have him kicking with the ball of his foot, not the toes as in the picture). You might include a small shadow that sort of looks like a pile of ashes under him to show his height and symbolically allude to the phoenix's rebirth. I am not thinking of an actual pile of ashes, but just a black smudge of a line. I am hoping the logo can convey a spiritual uplifting through the study of taekwondo, hence a young man doing a jump front kick and the silhouette of a phoenix rising up behind him. Overall, I'm pretty particular about this since I have been tweaking my image for many years, and think it looks pretty good already. It should be a black phoenix, a deeper red practitioner, with a white border or background. Please just use these three solid colors with no variant shades. I'd like the practitioner not to be too young in form, and NOT cartoony or overly abstract. I am open to brush strokes, however, or a more calligraphic look. I am looking for real artwork, something I wouldn't be able to draw as a layman. I want my students to be inspired by my logo, and I want potential students to be able to see my logo and know exactly what we do. I am also hoping, if selected, you could include just the phoenix and just the practitioner, as separate entities, since for my business card and on the website, I will likely be using these components separately.
