Law Office of Shawn Vogt Sween
I am a Harvard-educated female lawyer starting up a solo law firm. The firm will focus on agricultural law, rural schools, and small town development and governance. I want to bring a new perspective to small-town practice after living for many years in larger cities. I want to convey that I am professional and on the cutting-edge, but I also still want to seem approachable and friendly. The idea I want to convey is: I'm not the same old “small town” lawyer you may have thought you knew. Small town lawyers can be world-class too.
The law firm will be located in a historic building with huge 12-foot storefront windows. The logo will be featured prominently in the transom of the window. It will be at least 3-feet tall in the window.
I will be marketing to rural Minnesota. The people will include town officials, school administrators, large-scale farmers, family farms, small town residents. The market is actually quite diverse, with the main unifying feature being that they all live in rural areas. It is important to remember that these people may not live in cities, but they are also not "hicks." Many of the people I'll be marketing to will be well-educated and highly travelled. They live in rural areas because they appreciate the quality of life, not because it's all they know.
The logo will be used on the giant storefront windows of the firm's building. It will be prominent on the website. It will also be used on business cards, stationery, envelopes, etc. I want people to see and recognize the look.
Color preferences: Please experiment with color. I do not have any color preferences per se. However, I do tend to like bold reds, orange, green (the color of things that grow), and jewel tones. I don't want it to look stuffy and old-fashioned. I want the colors to be bold enough that the letterhead could be copied or faxed and the logo will still show up prominently.
Style: professional, edgy, modern. I would like to see designs that highlight my initials "SVS" since my website is svslawoffice.com. Please don’t limit it to letter designs though, because I'd like to see other styles too. I'm having a hard time envisioning what I want--hence hiring a designer--but I do know that I want it to look modern and professional. Please be creative and help me figure out how to get the look I'm trying to project.
Abstract images would be great, but I don't want to see clipart. For example, please do not include the scales of justice, a gavel, a tractor, a farm animal, etc.
File types: I'll need this for letterhead and website use. Please provide appropriate file types for both.
