I'm a fine art photographer rebranding and redoing my entire look & studio. I was stuck in an old business name & logo that didn't really portray "me" and I'm looking for a fresh new logo that will give me a good starting point for my business & to give direction to my rebranding project.
I wanted to incorporate the word blue because my studio has a "blue room" - slightly vintage w/ milk glass decorations, and slightly eclectic. No color scheme, etc. The word Indie satisfies the natural, organic & even "hippy" side of me. I didn't want it to be too "in your face hippy" just a little subtle hint, and I'd like the logo to reflect that. The words together have a more modern ring to it, and I'd like my logo to reflect that as well.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Women are our primary target audience, whether it is brides searching for a wedding photographer, or moms looking for a family or newborn photographer. The logo should be feminine without being girly, since adult women are our target and we don't simply do children's photography. We also provide more high end fine art photography, and expect average sales upwards of $1200.00 per session. The logo should reflect a high end product.
On average - we do very few weddings (1-2 a month at most), but higher end, and these are mostly destination weddings. The remainder of our business comes from families, babies, maternity, senior portraits and beach portraits.
Creativity is encouraged, and the requirements are loose but there are some specifics.
The logo should be feminine, but not girly or bubbly. It should reflect the overall look and feel of the brand (higher end, organic, etc). The logo should be able to be easily incorporated into all aspects of branding - including eventually stationary, letterhead, etc.
An important part of our business is watermarking photos so there should be a component or design element within the logo that could be used to watermark images, preferrably without the full studio name (unless the designer can come up with a creative and compact way to include that without taking up so much space to interfere with the image being watermarked).
Although the word "blue" appears in the name/logo, there is no requirement to include the color blue in the design. In fact, we have not decided on specific colors, however I am drawn to cool, clean, and neutral or soft colors (not quite pastel, but slightly faded colors). Colors could possibly be tweaked if a design fits the concept in every other way.
I do not want to include any photography related elements such as cameras, lenses, etc.
