Jonas was very professional throughout my contest, and was happy to accommodate all of my requests. His design was my "first impression" choice, and also the most popular of the 100+ I received when I ran a poll. A pleasure to work with, thanks Jonas :)
How Tor Hovland started their logo design journey
Our philosophy is to create the very best working environment for great programmers. We believe that will enable us to build a reputation of someone who can deliver work rapidly and with extraordinary quality. We are inspired by Fog Creek Software's philosophy, which you can read about here: http://www.fogcreek.com/About.html
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our logo and website must attract companies that need highly skilled programmers for contracting work or custom application implementation. But even more importantly, the logo must resonate with the really skilled programmers looking for a new job. It must clearly show that we are serious about the art of programming, and not just another consulting company.
The logo must fit our company name. What do you think a "programmator" looks like? We're not quite sure ourselves, but it must be some kind of machine generating code, don't you think? A logo needs to be simple, so perhaps just a box or something can represent the machine.
We like the green scrolling characters used in "The Matrix" (search for "matrix" in Google Images), but we don't want an obvious Matrix knock-off.
Hopefully this will give you some ideas to get started. Forget the code-generating machine and the Matrix theme if you have a better idea that you think we'd like. All we ask for is that the logo fits the name and our philosophy well.
