FanTwits
We are a sports social networking site that is focused on leveraging micro blogging (we are utilizing the Twitter API). We are a start up with Angel funding. We have some design ideas already. We are looking for specific assistance (and for someone to prove their worth!) on a logo. This will lead to work on our website. There is much to do. We are trying this 99Designs service out to see if there are talented individuals to join our team.
Primarily male and between 16-25 years of age. It is young, aggressive and fun. There are some sites out there that we see as competitors, sites such as: http://championist.com/ (though we are a little different in focus - ANY user can have a FanTwits Page, bio, and, post tweets).
We want to create a daring and exciting logo that incorporates a "megaphone" plus a sports fan. The logo could precede the word FanTwits; or, the logo could be part of the word (perhaps being worked into the first "T" in "FanTwits"...
We really want to get the idea of an "individual's" ability to "broadcast"... FanTwits is a Sports Talk Social Network, where ANY user can create a profile and share their Tweets and views. Passionate fans can create their page, get sports scores (on our site), and tweet with friends (via Twitter API) on FanTwits site. It is Crowd Sourced Sports Talk. Each fan has a voice.
We want that "voice" to be embodied by a megaphone (we thought sort of an "old" microphone approach - see attached).
We also like the idea of the red, white and blue being worked into the design... We do not want to make it nationalistic. But, the focus of the site is USA (at least to start)... We DO like the idea of using the "cut out" that you see in the "NBA.Jpg" and "MLB.jpg" (also see "NFL" attached). It is representative of colors for numerous USA leagues. They are ALL using red, white and blue... again see attached.
We think a combination of a person, using an old style megaphone, in silhouette (a "cut out"), against a creative use of red, white and blue would work very, very well... now, we need to see your interpretation of this!
