Empirica Research
Empirica Research is a new full service, boutique market research firm based in Melbourne and Los Angeles. We offer a complete range of market and consumer research services in both Australia and the US.
We need your help in developing strong, vibrant, imagery that captures our personality. We conduct custom-designed consumer and social research projects for companies, government agencies, and not-for-profits. Our main "point of difference" is our strong link to the academic world - we will be bringing more empirical rigor and the latest ideas from psychology and consumer behavior to help address our clients' research questions.
Here is a list of personality traits our logo needs to convey:
Intelligent, innovative, young, creative, agile, not-conservative-and-yet-trustworthy. Logical, powerful, outcome-focused. Academic, but not nerdy or disconnected from the real world. Warm, but sharp and professional.
UPDATE: We do not like logos with magnifying glasses in them, so suggest avoiding this concept.
Our target audience is mainly executives (e.g., research directors, marketing managers, policy advisers) working in companies, government agencies and not-for-profits. These individuals would visit our website looking to commission us to conduct a research project on their behalf.
Below, you will find common examples of what our audience would have in mind when they first encounter the logo you design.
Retail companies (e.g., the marketing manager at a cell phone company might hire us to conduct a large survey of teenagers to see what sports stars have the most appeal).
Advertising firms (e.g., an ad agency might hire use to run focus groups on several TV ads for a new car to see which one resonates the most).
A government agency (e.g., a policy adviser might commission us to study how many people in a rural area have a plan for what to do in the event of a bushfire/wildfire).
A logo that will be a powerful presence on our website and letter-head. No restrictions in terms of color, design features, or size. The logo needs to include the words Empirica Research, but can certainly include additional design features as you see fit (e.g., initials, imagery etc).
