Third Octet / thirdoctet
We are a small yet extremely experienced information technology consulting firm based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We provide leading edge technology solutions to our clients in the area of application delivery, virtualization, and core infrastructure elements, such as messaging, storage, and networking. We are not vertical specific as our solutions adapt to any business.
Our name, Third Octet, was derived from the nature of communications on the Internet - being IP addresses, and octets. We were formed by three people, hence the combination.
Our target audience is any business that relies on technology to operate effectively and efficiently. Therefore, any business.
We are looking for a clean and professional logo that is not overly busy, and not overly elegant. The logo should include both a typographic treatment (Third Octet, either together or seperate; together being the preference) - view our current one at http://www.thirdoctet.com) and a company logo mark (symbol). The symbol can be representation of the name, or some element that you feel reflects the name and the areas in which we excel (application delivery, virtualization, technology, etc).
Our logo will appear on our website, social network sites (LinkedIn, Twitter), as well as our clothing and all paper based materials (business cards, letterheads, mailings, etc). Any combination of upper/lower case type is permissible.
So, free reign with some minimal recommendations. Obviously we want the logo to be professional, and not cartoonish; however, being a high-tech company, we will entertain web 2.0 looks.
The files we will require are:
Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
You can see that we've stuck with red and grey previously, but are open to alternatives.
