How Hayden Kwast started their logo design journey
I am an entrepreneur starting a specialty exchange for the coffee industry. My business partner and I just graduated from an international business program. The KoffeeLink business plan took second place in a major business plan competition, which propelled our company to the seed funding level. We are currently developing relations with coffee importers and trade associations and plan to launch the exchange in the next few months.
The KoffeeLink exchange makes coffee procurement more sustainable by increasing market access for coffee farmers, importers and roasters. Coffee farmers and importers place coffee on the virtual exchange and roasters bid for the coffee.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The target audience is the coffee trade, including coffee farmers, importers, roasters and coffee enthusiasts. KoffeeLink is primarily a business to business (b2b) company, but we expect some coffee consumers to take interest in the exchange and read about the origins from where their coffee came.
We are looking for a logo that says just "KoffeeLink" or includes the company byline, which is "KoffeeLink - a specialty exchange for sustainable industry growth" If we see a logo with the byline that works, then we will take it. But, knowing the byline is a little long, we will also look at logos that only read "KoffeeLink" We will leave the decision to include a byline or not up to you, the designer.
We would like to see the logo use earth tones, such as greens, reds, and browns, which are the colors of coffee cherries, plants, and beans. I attached a copy of our current logo, which is ok, but we are looking for something much better. I realize that the attached logo reads "KoffeeLINK" instead of "KoffeeLink" Whether or not to keep the word link capitalized or not I will leave to you, the designer, to decide. Thanks and I hope you have fun with this project.
