Fantastic response from all our preliminary requests with numerous revisions during the contest. Great design and we got what we were asking.

How kstrump started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Save Our Section
What’s your company slogan?
"Your friend in section planning" (preferred but optional; open to re-wording)
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The logo will be for an education website, for internal use at Harvard University. The website will be a lesson ("section") plan collection. Lesson plans will be made available on this site to Teaching Assistants who are teaching courses that previous generations of teachers have created lesson plans for. The users will also be able to upload their own lesson plans. The target audience is therefore teachers/graduate students.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Logo types to explore
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
The name of the website will be "Save Our Section" (section = lesson), which abbreviates to "SOS". We would like to have the logo sea-themed in order to reflect the idea of being "saved" by this website when planning a lesson / being lost at sea (for example, when under time constraint to produce a lesson plan).
In addition, we are pretty constrained in terms of the broader look and feel of the website because we are working with a template provided by the university. See attached screenshot of the current landing screen. The 99designs logo will replace the current (supremely amateur) placeholder with the waves and the text. The color scheme of the website is not very flexible, so the logo color theme should preferably work with the colors visible in the screenshot. The upper left hand corner with the lifebuoy ring tiny logo is intended to remain as part of the website design - but if you would like to redesign that to fit your proposed logo, please feel free.
