How Claude Leveille started their logo design journey
Courant Investment Partners
My name is Claude Leveille. I was born and raised in Montreal Canada, but have lived in the US for over 20 years. I worked for a technology company in CA called @Home Network. Since then I have been a private investor. I am now in the process of starting a value investment fund called Courant Capital. I will have offices in Austin TX, SF and Montreal. The investment philosophy of the fund is making long term investments in solid companies with very defensible market positions.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The target audience will be wealthy private individuals in CA who made their fortunes in building technology companies. Furthermore, I will be raising funds from institutional investors in Canada. Eventually I will also raise funds from institutions in the US as well. In both cases the target audience will be looking for a serious company to entrusts funds to. I want to project an image of conservativeness, seriousness, and integrity.
I need a logo that captures what the investment fund is about. I picked the name Courant because it has the following connotations ...
- It means informed, knowledgeable
- It is the same in French and English
- The New England Courant newspaper was where Benjamin Franklin first worked
- Ben Franklin is grandfather of the idea of compounding interest, the core value behind the fund
