Mullum Valley Park is an eco-friendly housing development of 56 allotments on the outskirts of Melbourne. People purchasing allotments will need to submit their house designs to a project architect to ensure quality, environmentally sustainable design. Mullum Valley Park will aim to project a ‘future green’ feel to attract buyers with an interest in living in a community of like-minded environmentally aware and responsible people.
The developers are very keen to ensure prospective buyers are a good match with their vision – people with an interest in environmentally sustainable design; a commitment to preserving the local parkland’s flora and fauna; and ensuring their homes not only blend with the landscape, but have the least possible environmental impact while retaining high ‘intelligent’ design features.
We think buyers will include a mix of:
• young ‘green’ families and couples moving out from the inner city and from neighbouring suburbs to a larger block with more parkland and living closer to nature
• older couples (empty nesters) from the surrounding suburbs looking to downsize, and with in interest in building and living in an eco-friendly property
• people generally interested in living in a community with high standards of environmentally sustainable design in a pocket of tranquil bush and parkland relatively close to the city.
