How Michael Blumfield started their logo design journey
Boomer Zoomer Content Co.
I'm a writer/marketer/consultant who knows that businesses are missing a chance to tap into the market of active Baby Boomers. These folks aren't old and stuck in their ways--they're eager to enjoy life and have money to spend. But marketers routinely overlook them with their messaging. I'm here to help marketers reach these Boomers with communications assistance that really works. The name implies both the fact that the ultimate customer is active and that the business helps marketers "zoom in" on this demographic.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
While ultimately the audience is Baby Boomers, the main group I'm reaching are marketers who are selling services and products that these Baby Boomers would enjoy--travel companies, fitness groups, spas, software companies whose products help Boomers keep their brains functioning well, etc. I'm not looking at serving the more sedentary, boring companies--insurance, financial planning, etc.
The name has a visual feel to it, and I'm open to how this is implemented. I am envisioning something that suggests my company is zooming in on a segment in a manner similar to how you'd zoom in on an area of a map in MapQuest, Google Maps, etc.
The main words to be emphasized would be Boomer and Zoomer with Content and Co. less so--the idea here is that Boomer and Zoomer convey the energy of the idea, while Content and Co. clarify what my company does (provides content for marketing.)
I want something that I could meet with a 35-year-old CEO of a medium-sized company and he/she would get a sense of excitement and potential. My website will lay out how misunderstood this audience is and how connecting with them can mean new and unexpected business.
Please consider how the design could also be used in a website--that is, how the basic buttons and navigation would appear as a result of this logo.
