People need to see the logo (and eventual website) and think ‘wow’, this represents an image of powerful and strategic alliance between leaders in interactive technology: a professional, edgy, techy, strong global leader and innovator in this space.
Specifically, we need to create a trusted, communicable, exciting, and highly differentiated brand, competing in the same space as global social media giants, Playfish and Zynga who are out there. (As this is a global company, we are not looking for logo's featuring Australian references. ie no Kanagaroos, Koalas or maps of Australia.)
Mooter Media has to be more interesting than that. We believe our product is, so now it's time to make sure our logo is too. We need your help!
We must make the current key players look like tired boring brands. This partnership is right at the forefront of Web 2.0 - think of some of the iconic logos of the true innovators in online media, and you're probably getting close to the mark. Start to creatively weave in the key thematic elements of what we do - photos/images, social networking and casual gaming - as well as blending both our creative mindset and professional focus, and you're getting closer still!
Bright colors are great, as are some of the common design cues seen recently in the online space - thin, simple text; bold, simple, iconic designs; 'glass' layers (the elliptical marquee tool in Photoshop); subtle reflections, shadows and gradients. We really are looking for something classy but cool. Here's some examples of things I like to give you some food for thought:
