Institute for the American Worker
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a policy organization focused on educating policy makers and the public on issues affecting the workplace, job creators and entrepreneurs. Our programs consist of training and mentoring congressional staff, on labor policy and outreach to the business and think tank community on these issues. Our main audience is congressional offices, industries impacted by congressional labor policy and policy experts that work on these issues. (A lot more information under “Is there anything else you would like to communicate to the designers?”)
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
We are a brand new national think tank that is working on labor and workforce related policy. It is a very wonky topic and we could go with a “traditional” think tank look / feel (like: https://www.heritage.org or https://www.nrtw.org) but that is not what we want. We want to convey ourselves as a traditional, trustworthy, established serious policy organization that focuses on the future of America’s workforce. This ranges from construction, manufacturing to technology, entrepreneurs and the sharing economy like Uber - so there needs to be a innovative / tech / sharing economy / opportunity / positive “feel” to it to balance out the “masculine” “traditional” design. Prefer something more conceptual and abstract rather than an actual item or our organization’s acronym. Shades of blue to convey stability, established and experienced - but in addition to darker blue/navy experiment using a more silvery-blue to convey more cutting edge work and entrepreneurship. Some groups in “our world” that are doing innovative work and we like thier vibe include: https://coincenter.org and https://www.eff.org (although I am not crazy about the basic acronym for thier logo - but I like how fun their website is)
