We are a witty new political website that will launch at the end of February. We will cover Politics and Policy News and Commentary. There will also be a lifestyle component of the site as well they will go inside the life of political and noteble figures.
The target audience is a multicultural audience between the age of 25-55. The sweet spot is between the age of 30-50. We want to attract the political junkie while also attracting a political novice who is just passing through. The goal is to be relatable to everyone but with a clear focus on politics. The audience will be apart of the "Obama-era Washington" or "The New Washington" that many people refer to. Not the typical boring stuffy Washington. The logo still should appeal to Washington vetrens. See the attachment for an example of what the audience will represent. The logo needs to reflect this level of moderness.
The primary Color should be the Navy Color however I'd like to see a version in the Red. Additionally we will need a reversed out version of this logo, I'll need to see this on the Blue and the Red as well.
The tagline is:
Policy From Your Point of View
Well need to also see versions with and without the tagline.
In general there needs to be a air of sexiness, modern, but still relate to politics.
The logo should be horizontially linear as it will be used on the web.
The logo should be typographic. while we are fine with seeing a brand mark with the logotype the logotype should be strong and distitinct enough to live without it.
The logo should reflect politics and washington DC culture however should definitely convy the Obama-era, "The New Washington" that many are discussing. It consists of people in politics who are generally younger, powerful, and less "stuffy" than those in pervious eras but should still appeal and be relatable to those from a previous era.
These are the type of logos we are attracted to:
