How Thegivingfinch started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
The Giving Finch
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The Giving Finch is a start up company that will initially sell handmade papercraft items such as greeting cards, gift wrap, tags, and embellishments. Most of these items are purchased by customers and then given as gifts - the designer's/owner's last name is Finch hence "The Giving Finch" name.
Logo types to explore
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
Our handmade paper craft merchandise is overly embellished and is recognized for the color combinations, patterns, and impeccable detail that goes into each product. The consumers we attract are age 18-65 females and most of our products will be purchased online, local markets/fairs or boutique gift stores.
The logo will be used on the back of greeting cards and other product packaging (along with web and print). I envision the logo being the word “The Giving Finch” with a small bird sitting or flying around the words. I’d like the bird to look unique, simple but with feminine detail -and maybe explore an envelope in the bird's mouth – no cartoons. I'd like the bird to look hand drawn if possible. I’d also be willing to explore the emblem logo idea with these same elements – maybe using dots or dashes as a boundary.
I like feminine fonts like “fling” http://www.fontshop.com/search/?q=fling+plain or “ohdeedoh” at http://www.ohdeedoh.com/ but not necessarily calligraphy or script. I’m willing to consider other font types if the letters in “The Giving Finch” don’t look good in the types of fonts above, as well and using two fonts together. I’m open to using upper or lowercase letters.
I'd like the logo in color and in black and white. I need .jpeg and .psd files.
