Logo types to explore
I am a fine art photographer that sells prints, and very rarely do any event based photography. You can see the style of my work at 2 primary places: http://www.trevinchowphotography.com and http://trevin.500px.com/. Most of my exposure is on the web through the 2 sites I just mentioned and through social media where I share through Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. As such, a logo would have to do well on both white and black backgrounds. On my portofolio, I have a desire to keep the primary background black since this is best for viewing photos. My business cards are given out rarely, but when they are, it's because I am showing my work at a local art studio or other business. The logo would be on a business card also. My target demographic is all age ranges, but primary late 20's to mid 40's. The price point of my work (starting at $350 per print and goes up to over $1000) puts it into above average income bracket. I do not currently use a slogan and don't intend to have one in the future. My initial thoughts are that the ideal design will be flexible enough to use on my online photo portfolio (http://trevinchowphotography) as well as on business cards and other social sites like Facebook. Since many of these websites require a "logo" that is square shaped, I'd love to be able to see the logo easily scale down to be effective in a 1:1 aspect ratio or if you opt for a pictoral or abstrack mark approach keep that in mind. Please do not make it "cartoony" or too playful. I am typically against any font that is cursive, but it might work with the right design. Note: The format of my portfolio will be changing in a few months, so don't take the size and placement of the existing logo I'm using as the intended target.
