Attorney & Law
I am an attorney who has two primary focuses: (1) I represent technology startups, including helping them become more professional and serving their legal needs, and (2) I consult with companies of all sizes to develop privacy strategies. I have worked for bigger companies for several years and have recently branched out on my own. I need to walk a fine line between appearing respectable and knowledgeable to my clients and their investors, but also demonstrating that I can understand the needs of an idealistic 20-something techie who is starting a business. (I am in my 30s.) Please help me establish my business with something fresh, modern, and somewhat sophisticated but not at all stuffy. I intend to build my website, letterhead, business cards, and entire brand around my logo, so this is really important to me. Thanks!
Logo types to explore
My current website has a botanical theme (bud for startups, large tree for established businesses, closed flower for privacy issues) -- but I am totally open to going in another direction. If you have an idea for an image that you think will help convey my message, I'd love to see it. Here is a link to my website. It's still a work in progress, but you get the general idea: http://tennysonlawoffice.com/ I tend to like simple yet striking logos. Again, I'm striving for fresh and modern, yet still respectable. Nothing old-fashioned or ornate, please. I uploaded a few logos I like above: -- Orrick: I like that it's simple, modern, and memorable. -- Buy/Rent/Sell - I like the three simple images. One idea is to use the bud/tree/closed flower theme I already have on my website in a similarly simple or abstract way. -- Parkway - nice use of a leaf image. The font isn't what I'm looking for though. -- Kuhlman - I really like the abstract, modern-meets-Frank Lloyd Wright aspect to this logo. Given my initials, I will probably not like a logo that incorporates "E.T." An image based on the "T" alone could work, however. So could a logo without an image if there is something unique about how my name is written. The focus should be on my name (either "Erica Tennyson" or "Tennyson") as the biggest letters. "Law Office of" should be the afterthought, not the main message. I'm open to either my name or the image being the focus of the logo. Finally, I am definitely trying to stay away from the typical overused legal iconography, so no scales of justice or gavels please. My tech startup clients expect something fresher and more modern. Also, my practice is more about bringing people together to grow a business, whereas icons like the scales of justice and gavels are about legal disputes. I consider myself to be an advisor and a counselor as much as an advocate. Thanks! I'm really excited to see what you come up with.
