Wed3 is a Carolinas region focused group of investors and representatives of investment corporations. This members-only group reviews business summaries submitted by companies and individuals. Selected early-stage companies then have the opportunity to present their presentations to a Wed3 regular membership meeting. Through this process, Wed3 hopefully acts as a "matchmaker" for young companies and interested investors. The company seeking capital must meet certain investment criteria to be considered for the Wed3 review process. More information on Wed3 can be found on the organization website at http://www.wed3.org.

Wed3 targets "angel investors" by invitation only to its exclusive membership group. An angel investor or angel (also known as a business angel or informal investor) is an affluent individual who provides capital for a business start-up, usually in exchange for convertible debt or ownership equity. Wed3 brings together angel investors to share research and to pool their investment capital. More information on angel investors can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_investor.
The other side of the Wed3 target audience are capital seekers. These are typically early-stage companies that are seeking capital for which to grow and scale their business. In exchange for capital, the company and its existing ownership group will provide equity into the business. The goal is for the business to grow substancially over time resulting in large returns on investment for the angel investors.
Wed3 is an organization that brings these two groups together. The group comes together on the third Wednesday of every month to hear capital seekers "pitch" their business to angel investors for 8 minutes, followed by a question and answer period. If the angels are interested in the business and a potential investment, business cards will be exchanged and follow-up meetings scheduled.
Please do not use the existing website or Wed|3 logo as a guide. We want to start from scratch. No idea or mockup is a bad idea. Be creative with your designs, colors, etc. The logo will be used for branding the website, business cards, stationary, etc. The tagline, "The Angel Forum of Charlotte" should be included with the logo.
