Tasha Belix, Psychological Services, MA, Provisional Psychologist
I am a Clinical Counsellor, with 15 years experience working as a Play Therapist with children who have witnessed abuse and as a Parenting Educator. I would describe myself as energetic, magnetic, creative, empathetic, skilled, knowledgeable and fun. I would like a logo which has some spunk to it!
As a Play Therapist, I use games, toys and art material to engage children in the counselling process.
I am starting a private counselling business in a Canadian city, in high need of child therapists. I My wish is for the logo to compliment my image of being playful and approachable.
My biggest target is parents/caregivers who need psychological help for their children. They are the people who pay me. Knowing that, my promotional material will also be sent to family doctor's offices and to elementary schools in my area of the city. My brochure will be distributed to prospective families who are in need of counselling services for their child/children by these professionals. I want the logo to grab the attention of potential clients, especially parents/caregivers, to let them know that my approach is child-focused and I use art and play therapy techniques to facilitate difficult conservations with children. I think a logo which appeals to the child's sense of playfulness would also be of benefit, so I will include them as part of the target audience as well.
My logo should be done in black only & simple.
I envision a continuous SCRIBBLE DRAWING, like a long piece of spaghetti, depicting a child. I would like the child to be the prominant feature of the image. Knowing that I would like the child to be holding hands or connecting with an adult in the logo as well (perhaps the adults head only??)
I think the characters should be gender neutral. My hope is that the drawing will be playful and fun"ish", so parents, doctors and other health professionals will know my counselling business is to serve children's issues, simply at a glance.
I also hope for the logo to convey the idea of conncection between child and parent and exude a feeling of well-being and/or happiness.
The logo will be used on brochures, business cards, promotional material and letterhead.
