How Woolpack Hotel started their logo design journey
We have just purchased an old sydney hotel/pub (licensed since 1885) we want to modernise and bring in new clientele . Formerly working class area that is becoming fashionable, close to CBD. The hotel is a small one bar lounge/public bar operation with bistro and gaming (poker machines), Outside street dining. Our desire is to continue the homely (local) feel of the pub but make it fashionable/quirky but not flashy modern.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Existing market is a mixture of old regulars 50+ years and younger people living in the area 20-30. Also has a good younger office crowd during the day. We want to target the younger workers and the more affluent people moving into the area. There is also a large student population which we would like to tap but we dont want it to be uni pub
We are looking for a new look for hotel/pub and bistro. Happy to incorporate the wool/sheep theme in a quirky way but equally we could just go with a stylized font. The logo needs to "say" homely friendly, intellegent, fashionable, historical, quality food and beverage but not in a flashy way . We want people to go to the pub to relax and meet friends , it will not feature bands or loud music or late night drunks. We are after a more suffisticated crowd but not a pretentious crowd.
Can be reversed . Logo to appear on menu's , drink coasters, exterior signage. Colours of the hotel interiors/exterior will be cream, charcoal, with wood finishes.
